Macdonald Estates is committed to achieving standards of environmentally friendly levels above and beyond the legislative minimum and have embarked on an audit of all project proposals in the pipeline that will ensure innovative thinking on sustainability is brought forward as a key issue.

SUSTAINABILITY
We seek to ensure all projects adopt the strategic aspirations of the Bruntland Report by making certain the “development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.

By placing our project framework at the forefront of the development process we ensure that fundamental principles of sustainability are at the heart of design development. Early inclusion ensures that innovation and creativity can be tabled early ensuring meaningful engagement with the community.

PLANNING
Engagement, economics, inclusion, design and place provide the basis for good development when linked to sustainability. Macdonald Estates strive to bring forward proposals that meet the desires of the local community while taking account of established and emerging planning policies.

Good development provides a balanced environment where change is incorporated organically, vitality is enhanced and creation of wealth sits alongside a sense of place.

The relationship between sustainability and planning is inextricably linked. To plan for short, medium and long term, emphasis is placed on “ensuring that our actions do not limit our quality of life in the future”.
